About One

One’s mission is simple - to help customers achieve financial progress. We’re doing this by creating simple solutions to help our customers save, spend, borrow, and grow their money – all in one place.

The U.S. consumer today deserves better. Millions of Americans today can’t access credit, build savings or wealth, and are left to manage their financial lives through multiple disconnected apps. Almost a quarter of U.S. adults are unbanked or underbanked and roughly 80% of fintech users rely on multiple accounts to manage their finances.

What makes us unique? We are backed by a preeminent fintech investor (Ribbit) and the world’s largest retailer (Walmart), maintain the speed and independence of a startup, and employ a strong (and growing) collection of world-class talent.

There’s never been a better moment to build a business that helps people achieve financial progress. Come build with us!

The role

As our Head of Site Reliability (SRE), you will head two distinct teams: a team focused on all of ONE’s efforts around reliability and observability, and the other on quality engineering. You’ll drive the strategy, hire and build an exceptional core of engineers, and ensure ONE’s customers get the experience and quality they deserve

You Will:

  • Lead our Reliability and Quality Engineering teams, ensuring world class levels of system reliability and software quality

  • Implement strategies for high-availability systems with 99.9999% uptime

  • Collaborate and build your teams to implement and grow roadmaps from early stages of design to deployment

  • Implement and manage global 24/7/365 operations, including support team rotations

  • Assess and establish our quality practices and standards, and build for the future

You Bring:

  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration between engineering, product management, and other departments. This involves not only ensuring the quality of products but also aligning quality assurance strategies with our objectives and customer needs, ensuring a holistic approach to product development and delivery.

  • An innovative approach to quality assurance, with the ability to implement cutting-edge technologies, practices and methodologies.

  • Expertise in System Architecture and Scalability - you have a deep understanding of system architecture, and ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable and highly reliable systems.

  • The ability to stay cool under pressure; you have exceptional skills in incident management and resolution, with a focus on minimizing downtime and preventing recurrence.

  • This involves not just technical proficiency but also a strategic approach to risk management, system monitoring, and continuous improvement of operational practices.

  • Excellent communication and team integration skills

Leveling Philosophy

In order to thoughtfully scale the company and avoid downstream inequities, we’ve adopted a flat titling structure at One. Though we may occasionally post a role externally with a prefix such as “Senior” to reflect the external level of the position, we do not use prefixes in titles like that internally unless in a position which manages a team. Internal titles typically include your specific functional responsibility, such as engineering, product management or sales, and often include additional descriptors to ensure clarity of role and placement within our organization (i.e. “Engineer, Platform”, “Sales, Business Development” or “Manager, Talent”). Employees are paid commensurate with their experience and the internal level within One.

Inclusion & Belonging

To build technology and products that are used and loved by people and solve real-world problems, we need to build a team with many different perspectives and experiences. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Applicants in need of special assistance or accommodation during the interview process or in accessing our website may contact us at talent@one.app.

Infrastructure Engineer (Blockchain) Logos Worldwide full_time https://remotive.com/remote-jobs/devops/infrastructure-engineer-blockchain-1903385 https://remotive.com/remote-jobs/devops/infrastructure-engineer-blockchain-1903385 Mon, 25 Mar 2024 22:52:11 GMT Logos DevOps / Sysadmin

Logos is a movement supporting the development of the decentralised web. Logos technologies lay the foundations for a freer internet upon which communities can evolve into network states. Each protocol in the Logos stack seeks to empower its users while upholding civil liberties and fundamental freedoms.

The role

DevOps is a buzzword, but it's also generic enough to encompass the breadth of tasks required in supporting development teams. There are many ways to make the lives of developers easier, and everyone has their own best way, which also means every team has their own way. There is no perfect way to make everyone happy with the same thing.

Supporting developers involves debugging obscure bash scripts from years ago that nobody remembers. It means biting on a piece of wood and using data formats turned programming languages like YAML to configure CI jobs. It means tracking down minute differences between releases of packages and libraries causing unexpected crashes. It means rewriting the same Dockerfile for the 5th time to allow a project to use one more obscure library. Or tracking down absurd race conditions of multi-threaded tests running in parallel on the same host. Or pulling your hair out at a bug only to realize it works fine after the CI worker host is restarted.

But fundamentally it means wrestling it all into submission and making it run smoothly... at least for as long as you're there.

If you have the guts to fight against entropy and deterioration of the reality we inhabit, then you just might also be crazy enough to enjoy the struggle while it lasts, and appreciate the eventual fruits of our labour, if you value privacy, freedom, and transparency. You might even make some money, and learn a bit from all the exceptional engineers working here.

Who you are

You have strong Linux Fundamentals:

  • Distros and package managers
  • Good understanding of process management

You have programming experience:

  • At least a few languages and showing the ability to learn
  • Bash as a minimum; Python would be helpful

You have experience in Continuous Integration:

  • Jenkins CI - Pipelines are written in Groovy
  • GitHub Actions - PR builds, mostly

You have experience in Security:

  • Good understanding of OpenSSH
  • GnuPG for encryption of secrets and backups

Distributed Systems:

  • Experience running Ethereum nodes
  • Knowledge of Layer 2 scaling solutions

Compensation

We are happy to pay in any mix of fiat/crypto.

Hiring process

  1. Interview with the Talent team
  2. Paid task
  3. Technical interview with Head of Infra

[The steps may change along the way if we see it makes sense to adapt the interview stages, so please consider the above as a guideline]
