Systems Engineer

MEMX is searching for a Systems Engineer for a hands-on architecture and support position in a U.S equities exchange requiring the ability to provide high level design as well as network support. This role will be supporting the firm's enterprise and production systems on global initiatives. Responsible for planning, installation, testing, and maintaining infrastructure throughout organization; aid projects in enterprise and production system requirements, and test plan development.

This is a remote role with one required visit to the New Jersey HQ per quarter.

Currently approved remote states include: NJ, NY, CT, PA, FL, IL, KS, GA, NC, SC, ME.

• Contribute to system architecture planning, and policies and procedures
• Develop guidelines for system implementation in regard to retaining system security
• Monitor system performance; perform complex problem determination, and resolution for systems at the different levels
• Conduct impact analysis
• Perform capacity monitoring with various monitoring tools; provide analysis and recommendations
• Support system integration, software and hardware for optimum performance
• With minimal supervision, provide optimum performance of infrastructure and enterprise wide technology through the creation, advancement, and support of the technology, ensuring compatibility of design/components
• This may include the operation of capacity software tools, and other software and hardware monitoring tools/technologies
• Build run books for orchestration tools used by the firm

Requirements

• 5+ years hands on experience with low latency, highly available distributed system and the network architectures needed to run them
• Linux, automation, automation scripting languages (i.e. Python), ansible, development background (preferred)
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of application architecture
• Ability to perform job relatively independently
• Excellent analytical and problem - solving skills for moderate problem
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Identify and mitigate risk(s)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and can adapt to the changing needs of the business requirements for the exchange globally
