Job Description  

As an Engineer on the team, you'll work with fellow engineers and product managers to prepare us for accelerated growth. This team has the gift of focus, on security (safeguarding the business) and scalability (scaling both technically (AWS) and product wise (VCT)) while giving the power of focus back to the product teams.  

The platform team operates like an internal inspired product team. This team finds out what problems people are facing and takes a product development approach to building the platform.

This position is based remotely and will work with colleagues in Europe and in the United States.

What You'll Do  

• Participates in the design, implementation, and administration of cloud-based infrastructure automation and continuous delivery capabilities including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Build and maintain operational tools for monitoring and analyzing AWS infrastructure and systems.
• Designs physical architectures for cloud-based applications that ensure scalability, availability, observability, security and compliance.
• Optimize cloud environments for both performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Assists in the design, implementation, and testing of disaster recovery strategies.
• Evaluates and operationalizes new tools, technologies and cloud services.

 

 

What You'll Need  

• 8+ years of experience in Cloud and DevOps experience or equivalent technical fields.
• Experience with AWS (Certification preferred)
• Experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure using EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, and IAM.
• Ruby on Rails for Back-End, AWS for Cloud, and SQL. 
• Strong willingness to learn new technologies.
• Knowledge of and desire to write automated tests (unit tests).
• Cloud automation templating (Terraform required)
• Configuration management and deployment automation tools such as Ansible (preferred), Puppet, Salt, or Chef.
• Continuous Integration and DevOps toolchain technologies such as Jenkins, Git and Nexus 
• CI/CD pipeline development (coding, testing, and debugging of pipeline and automation code in Groovy or Python on Jenkins
• Advanced English speaking and writing skills.
