DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a motivated DevOps Engineer, passionate about web technologies, to join our growing team in Italy.

About BEE:

BEE - a business unit of Growens - provides best-in-class tools for designing emails and landing pages, online at beefree.io and can be embedded in SaaS applications.
BEE stands for "Best Editor Ever" and that's the original, ambitious goal chosen for this project. Made with lots of passion between the United States and Italy, BEE is becoming a standard for digital content creation, starting with emails (“beautiful emails, fast”, is one of our taglines). The editor is used by hundreds of thousands of people every month and embedded in over 600 SaaS applications.

Your impact

As a DevOps Engineer, you will report to the Head of Engineering of BEE's Development Team. You will be focused on the development and maintenance of the BEE architecture and the related services.

Your core responsibilities will include: 

• Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure.
• Working on the maintenance and expansion of the architecture of all BEE products.
• Participating in the analysis and development of appropriate solutions to respond to customer needs on a specific roadmap.
• Being focused on making the implemented solutions modular, reusable and scalable, frequently comparing them with the team that is responsible for the development of BEE "core" modules.
• Work with different cloud providers like AWS, Google and Azure.
• Collaborate with other Group teams supporting them in QA activities, second level support tickets, technical documentation, creation of sample code, etc.
• Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues.

• Understanding stakeholders' needs and conveying them to developers.
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
• Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions.

Technical Skills

• Good Knowledge of Database: PostgreSQL.
• Excellent knowledge of AWS environment.
• Great REST API knowledge.

• Good experience with git versioning system.
• Good knowledge of English (intermediate or higher level).
• Being autonomous, responsible and gifted with initiative will be a real asset in reaching your goals.

• Experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and shell scripting.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and Azure (Nice to have)
• Experience in drafting technical documentation (Nice to have)

Location & Travel:

You will join our Italy-based development team. Our office in Cagliari is located at the Net Value co-working and we apply the Growens Way of Working (WoW) statement which sets Hybrid as our designated way of working, offering different (not exclusive) options as work from the office, home or anywhere depending on specific, personal, and team needs. From time to time, we will ask you to be flexible about joining the rest of the team in our Cremona or Milano offices for in-person meetings. Some travel will be required for our yearly team retreat(s). Between travel and meeting time, the retreat typically requires about two weeks of your time. We will provide ample notice so that you can plan for it.
