🔎 What we’re looking for 🔎

A Cloud Infrastructure Manager with extensive experience in AWS. You'll be joining our engineering team, leading the team designing and operating our cloud infrastructure to ensure students have reliable and performant learning experiences.

🔥What you’ll do🔥

• You will lead a Cloud Infrastructure team guiding them in the pursuit of reliable and performant infrastructure operation.
• You will help shape infrastructure designs and architecture helping to build a better learning experience for our users in collaboration with our technical leaders.
• You will collaborate with other Engineering Managers in the team to support product squads in their infrastructure needs.
• You will provide mentoring, guidance and coaching for a group of cloud infrastructure engineers helping them grow their skills and collectively achieve their goals.
• You will run process improvement and measurement activities across the engineering organisation.
• You will contribute to growing our engineering organisation, its capabilities and culture.

Requirements

It’s the perfect role for you if you have:

• Experience leading high-performing cloud infrastructure teams in an Agile environment with DevOps practices.
• Experience coaching and mentoring infrastructure engineers
• Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Cloudformation)
• Experience with containerisation and best practices (Docker, AWS ECS)
• Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda)
• Experience setting up and running performant CI/CD pipelines
• A good understanding of security best-practices & DevSecOps principles.
• Commercial experience as a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.
• A strong desire to lead and motivate a team to achieve their best.
• An excellent understanding of Linux
• AWS certifications

⭐️ It’s a plus if you have:

• A degree - preferably in a computing related subject
• Experience in a startup environment
• Experience with other infrastructure as code technologies (Terraform & AWS CDK(Typescript))
• Experience with configuration management tooling (Ansible)
• Experience operating globally deployed infrastructure.
• A good understanding of CDN's (Cloudflare) and caching
• A good understanding of mobile app deployment practices

The range available for this role is from £80,000 - £90,000
