VFX Artist

Red Star 3D are seeking a mid level FX ARTIST to work remotely on our current production of a charming stop-motion style BBC Christmas Special for Magic Light Pictures. 

You MUST be resident in the UK for this position. We cannot consider applicants who do not live in the UK.

The VFX artist will be responsible for delivering all the visual effects of the film under the supervision of the CG supervisor and to the direction of the film's directors and producers.

The job:

• Designing and implementing particle effects and simulations such as rain, snow, falling leaves etc.
• Designing and running fluid (FLIP) simulations such as water puddles, pouring liquid from a glass.
• Designing and running pyro simulations such as fire and smoke.

Must have:

• Four years production experience (minimum)
• Experience with Houdini and Maya

Nice to have:

• Maya API, Python scripting
• Experience in shading using Arnold for look development
• Feature film or commercial experience

Contract term: April - June 2023

Whilst this project is fully remote, due to the way it is funded we are ONLY able to consider applicants based in the UK. Salaries/term negotiable.
