Who is PerchPeek?

Have you ever relocated before? Did you manage to do it worry and stress free (no eye rolling or swearing!)? Or if you haven’t ever relocated, how do you feel about the prospect of figuring it all out on your own? Finding a new home, sorting out shipping your stuff, organizing utilities and bank accounts etc… The list of things to think about goes on and on. No matter where in the world you go, relocating is a crappy process that’s always time intensive and stressful. PerchPeek was conceived to change that.

PerchPeek’s aim is to guide people through every stage of their relocation. Our product is a delightful combination of content, tech, customer success & partnerships which work together to make moving simpler, faster, more secure and even enjoyable.

We’re at the forefront of changes to the workplace as knowledge workers have greater freedom to relocate than ever before. However, 95% of the people relocating around the world (c. 80 million annually) currently receive no (effective) support when moving and we are building a product to support this blue ocean of unsupported people. Over the past 18 months we’ve grown incredibly quickly, launching in 30+ countries, growing from 6 to 70+ people and raised both our Seed and Series A rounds from top US and European VC funds - Albion VC, Episode 1 and Stage 2 Capital. (Normal startup protocol would dictate that we put a rocket emoji in at this point, but we promised minimal cliches so... 🎈🎈).

Here’s a more detailed overview of the Product Designer role:

We’re super excited to be hiring 2 Product Designers to help us achieve our mission of growing the number of supported people moving around the world. As a Product Designer, you’ll have the opportunity to delight our users with amazing experiences. We’re building our web app from the ground up, and you can be part of that effort. Help us build a great product that will take the complexity of relocation and make it into an enjoyable process.

More specifically, you will:

• Innovate the product. Find new areas where we can grow, create new features that will help our users. Brainstorm new concepts and directions we can take our app to.
• Create, test and refine low and high-fidelity prototypes with users.
• Make the UI not only simple, easy and clear, but also charming.
• Explain your ideas, designs and best practices in order to successfully convince your team and stakeholders.
• Translate complex product requirements into easy and intuitive user flows.
• Collaborate with peers, product managers and developers through the entire product lifecycle.
• Iterate, iterate, iterate.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about design, with a versatile set of skills and interests, familiar with every step of the design process. The ability to collaborate with product managers, developers, researchers, paired with a proactive attitude is a must-have in a startup environment. Being flexible in our approach to problem-solving and having an open, inquisitive mindset is how we do things at Perchpeek.

You’ll be the perfect fit if you have:

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• An interesting portfolio featuring examples of product design work
• The ability to balance business needs with delivering the best user experience possible
• Skills that allow you to create functional and visually appealing interfaces
• Experience in all phases of the design process including user research, UX writing, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
• A data-driven approach to design and the ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback is required
• An affinity for conducting workshops,
• Figma know-how
• Great spoken and written communication skills in English
