WHO WE ARE

Starts With Us (SWU) is a growing movement to overcome extreme cultural and political divisions in America, leveraging media and technology to foster independent thinking and constructive communication across lines of difference. The initiative was launched in December 2021 in response to escalating patterns of extreme thinking and blind tribalism in the US. We are building out the founding team that will scale the Starts With Us movement to achieve our mission. Starts With Us is incubated by The Lubetzky Family Foundation (LFF). Created by KIND Snacks Founder Daniel Lubetzky, LFF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to finding solutions to society’s greatest challenges.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a creative hire on this entrepreneurial team, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and

creating digital content that communicates the values and objectives of Starts With Us in a clear and

engaging way. Reporting directly to the Creative Director, you will partner with the team to ensure

creative strategies and initiatives are consistently both aligned with and informing evolving priorities

and objectives.

Requirements

TO FIND SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

• Create and produce share-worthy social content in a variety of mediums such as quote cards, image manipulation, or short-form videos
• Collaborate closely with the Social Media team to develop the visual look & feel for new social content franchises that drive awareness and action around the Starts With Us values and skills framework
• Translate skill-based exercises from paper concepts to engaging visual formats
• Contribute to brand visual ID development, Starts With Us collateral and deck design, and other

strategic and operational design work needed to propel the team and brand

• Partner with internal and external teams to strategize social media campaigns in alignment with

company goals

• Produce deck presentations and materials to support both internal and partner level initiatives

YOU ARE

• Passionate about the values and objectives of Starts With Us
• Entrepreneurial; accountable for your results and how those are achieved
• Resourceful, solutions oriented, and persistent in overcoming and removing obstacles that

impact goal achievement

• Comfortable giving and receiving feedback
• Someone who operates with kindness, transparency, empathy, and integrity
• Comfortable in a remote work environment and willing to travel 3-4 times a year for team

gatherings

• An avid user of social media sites like Twitter and Instagram with solid understanding of current

trends and new features, different layouts, algorithm changes, and/or formats

YOU HAVE

• 2-5 years of design experience working in social media or digital marketing company
• Must have strong typography & layout skills with a strong attention to detail as well as strong motion design abilities
• Well versed in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; After Effects knowledge a plus)
• Expert knowledge of ancillary design tools to create content for social channels (e.g., Adobe Spark, Canva, etc.)
• Strong understanding of how copy + visuals work together on social
• Willingness to embody Starts With Us brand voice and tone
• Knowledge of how paid and organic social content works together
• Experience managing and collaborating with creative partners and agencies
• BFA in a Graphic Design–related study a plus
