BI Analyst Business Partner

Based: New York, USA with remote working available
Term: Full time

Focusrite are looking for an experienced analyst to join our growing Business Intelligence team, to support our US division with high quality Power BI reporting, data and ad-hoc analysis.

The Role:

You’ll maintain and consolidate the US division’s Power BI reporting and data pipeline in collaboration with the core BI team. You will also help with data ingestion and cleaning, and work with the BI team towards a fully automated process.

You’ll support month end, quarterly forecasting, and budgeting processes, and reconcile reports against financial summaries.

You will also support the US sales and finance teams with training sessions and workshops to guide their use of your reports and processes.

About us:

We make extensive use of Power BI, built on data warehoused in Snowflake, to deliver sales reporting, forecasting, customer insight and operational dashboards. We operate a hybrid model, with analysts embedded within individual business units, a network of trained power users, and a core Business Intelligence team to support them.

About you:

You have created and administered Power BI reports in an enterprise or SME setting, and know how to strike a balance between accessibility, security, and innovation. You’re statistically minded and can guide others to draw well-reasoned conclusions from data without just eyeballing a scatter plot. You might have a stats, economics, computing or science background, but have a clear grasp of business needs. You are comfortable working with stakeholders around the business as part of a distributed team, balancing the needs of your internal customers and the governance required to run an Enterprise BI team.

You’re also comfortable delving deeper into the stack, to implement SQL queries and consult on data warehouse design. You don’t mind cleaning data where necessary, but you’re probably the kind of person who likes to find the root cause of an issue before considering it solved.

Skills and experience required:

• Deep & varied experience of Power BI in a business setting
• ...or if not Power BI, another tool and a willingness to learn!
• Plenty of experience with Excel
• Great communication and documentation skills
• Enough SQL to identify data issues with a well written query
• An eye for detail and precision
• Familiarity with basic statistics and visualisation techniques
