New Business Strategy, MBA Internship (Summer 2023)

Lincoln Avenue Capital is seeking a New Business Strategy intern to join our firm this summer. This individual will be responsible for working with our Executive-level team on sourcing, analyzing, structuring, and financing new business opportunities in the real estate investment space. As a 10–12-week paid Summer Internship, this is an opportunity to develop critical business acumen and skills as you build long-term growth plans that have the potential to impact our business and mission for years to come. Through our dynamic program, you will gain practical and hands-on experience to help you meet your educational goals and prepare you for a real estate, finance, or private equity career.

At this time, we are only considering MBA students who are graduating in Spring 2024.

What You'll Do

• Conduct primary research on expansion opportunities in any market.
• Lead the development of a long-term growth plan and underwriting standards.
• Determine the strengths and weaknesses of various new business opportunities while considering the impact on the Founders' overall investment strategy and social impact goals.
• Work with the Executive team to create recommendations for market expansion and large-scale investment opportunities.
• Present recommendations to the investment committee with oversight from senior leaders, including LAC's Co-Founders.
• Investigate and analyze market rules, regulations, industry trends, or other documents.
• Analytical tasks including modeling of investment opportunities.

Requirements

• MBA candidate (Spring 2024) with exceptional academic performance and experience in finance and/or real estate.
• Real estate, private equity, or structured credit experience preferred.
• Experience in financial modeling.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage daily tasks.

Benefits

• The compensation range is $10,000 -- $12,500 per month, depending on experience and location.
• Interns can be remote, though there is a preference for this role to be in the New York City or Santa Monica Office. Ideally, the intern would commit to being in the office 3+ days out of the week between Monday through Thursday.
• We provide a monthly stipend for out-of-area interns working in NYC or LA.
• We offer a temporary remote set-up for your home & free catered lunches whenever you are in the office.
