General Description:

As a Senior Operator, you are required to have proficiency in a broad range of disciplines and technologies in the security space and a deep knowledge of at least one major security focus (operating systems, networks, cloud, forensics, reverse engineering, web applications, etc.). You will lead engagements that require you to rapidly learn client technology stacks, identify potential vulnerabilities, and develop proof of concept exploits for those vulnerabilities. You will also be responsible for regularly communicating with clients during engagements, including e-mails, phone calls, status updates, and the final proofing of any written deliverables required by an engagement's statement of work. When not on engagements, you will be given the time and resources needed to develop your security skills in your areas of interest. Senior Operators are expected to lend their support and technical expertise to others throughout the company (e.g., a Senior Operator may be asked to help on engagements that require SME knowledge or to train others in their specialty).

Responsibilities:

• Lead projects, including the writing and proofing of final deliverables
• Train others in operational disciplines (e.g., forensics, cloud, network pentesting, etc.)
• Pursue SME-level knowledge of multiple operational disciplines (e.g., forensics, cloud, web and network pentesting, etc.)
• Quickly learn new tradecraft/topics to complete projects
• Assist in projects outside of their assignments when necessary
• Assist with the creation and improvement of tradecraft and internal training mechanisms
• Assist with the interview process of potential new hires to Operations
• Interact with clients on a regular basis, including but not limited to:
  • e-mail/phone calls/Slack/etc.
  • engagement progress meetings
  • creation of written deliverables

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
• Four or more years of industry experience
• Strong, well-rounded background in host, network, and application security
• Extensive knowledge of internet security and the threat landscape
• Expertise with an interpreted programming language (Python, Ruby, etc.)
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Demonstrable good judgment when encountering nebulous problems
• Recognized as a SME in at least one operational discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with Burp Suite and common web penetration testing techniques
• Cloud-specific security knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• CI/CD experience (Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, etc.)
• DEVSECOPS background
• Reverse Engineering/Exploit development experience
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, as well as network services such as DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc.
